Lenny’s Tech Tip of the Month

See Spot Run

Lately we have been getting cars from people who have had their cars stored inside for YEARS! As a result, many of the cars have “dots and spots” on the car’s finish from oxidation. Do not despair! We have found that a cleaner that we use, Purple Power, does a great job, along with some elbow grease, in helping to remove the oxidation marks. Use about a 50/50 mix of Purple Power and water, apply to the car and allow it to soak. For this car’s particular case it took about four washings, but as the photos will show, you can see a difference with your car finish and your floors. For more stubborn oxidation marks you can use Purple Power at full strength. We use two spray bottles, one with full strength Purple Power for the really tough stains and one with a 50/50 mix for soaking the car.

Check out the before and after photos of the results!

This car had been garaged for over six years plus!

We have found that this mixture is great on chrome, glass and those hard to clean spoke wheels!

Be sure to rinse the car thoroughly once the oxidation marks are gone.

Be sure to wash your car in the shade, allow it to cool, and after another cooling period, you can go ahead and do your wax job.
